How to Be a Savvy Tradeshow or Art Show Guest

How do you walk a tradeshow without looking like a novice? How do you keep your artful act together when reaching for your personal effects?

If you have vexing visions of your fifth grade awkwardness, follow some of these tips to streamline your tradeshow floor savvy. After all, we’re all tramps, we just don’t want to appear like one. Oh and as for the definition of tramps, I mean nomads, not hussies people! 😉

Are You a Stalker?

Last weekend Andrew and I attended (walked) a slew of tradeshows in NYC that included National Stationery Show (NSS) and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) that runs concurrently with Surtex -a show at which we used exhibit. We’ve been walking various shows now for about 8 years. Other shows might include Atlanta Giftware Show (Jan), the Int’l Gift Fair (Jan/Aug), Directions, and Accessories.

The ICFF, in our minds, is just way too cool. If you want inspiration on several levels, be prepared for a surreal onslaught of some of the most talented artisans in the world. This creative collective bunch are an awesome array of industrial designers creating functional casegoods called furniture. One might also see softgoods for the home and accents.
